In 2026, we opened our first u-pick produce garden here at Lively Grove Farms, and this season, tomatoes have been the star! We grow multiple varieties of tomatoes for you to enjoy fresh off the vine. Our u-pick produce garden is also bursting with squash, cucumbers, peppers, multiple types of herbs, watermelon, cantaloupe, and u-pick flowers.

Roma
Our Roma tomatoes are a popular plum-shaped variety and are known for their thick, meaty flesh, lower water content, and few seeds. This tomato variety boasts a robust, savory flavor with good sugar and acid levels. Because they hold their shape well and are easy to cook down, they are the ideal choice for making rich tomato sauces, pastes, and salsas.
Black Cherry
Our Black cherry tomatoes are a highly popular heirloom variety known for their rich, sweet, and complex flavor. These tomatoes are sweet and fruity with deep undertones. They are slightly less acidic than standard red cherry tomatoes and are highly regarded in taste tests, making them exceptional for eating straight off the vine. They are also good for roasting, as the heat caramelizes their natural sugars and intensifies their rich flavor.
Better Boy Slicing Tomatoes
Better Boy slicing tomatoes are a highly popular variety known for producing large, 12- to 16-ounce, round fruit. This variety is widely celebrated for its classic, balanced tomato flavor, making it ideal for sandwiches, salads, and fresh eating.
Beefsteak
Our Beefsteak tomatoes are large, meaty, and flavorful. These tomatoes are juicy and hearty, making them ideal for slicing for sandwiches, burgers, and salads. They are also great for sauces, canning, and cooking.
